Here's an update:
I finally swapped the G4/500 Crescendo out of the Wall Street that
would not run on battery power, restoring the original processor
(G3/266 MHz) with additional RAM (256 MB in the top slot; 64 MB in
the bottom). This PowerBook now runs on battery and AC with its
original pro
