panel somewhere in the mix. no surge
protector or UPS is going to protect ethernet ports/NICs/cabling, it'll
just protect the devices themselves.

Every computer in my home is running through a APC UPS (three of them),
except my laptops (which I shut down when I am not using them) and I will
also say that they are worth their weight in gold to keep your computers
