I just got 774 emails from the list, plus several dozen more bounced
ones from various ages.
I thought I was set up to receive the digest versions. Somehow I
started to receive individual messages from the list. I tried to quit
the list and then restart receiving only the digests.
That didn't work
Something worth checking... On some of the G4's, the power supply fan has a
guard that is part of the PS casing. However, there is also a guard molded
into the back panel of the tower. Supposedly, things get quieter if you
remove one or the other; prefereably the metal one in the PS casing.

If you go to CompUSA you can pick up some nice fans by SilenX. They are really
quiet and will make your G4 less noisy. I'm pretty sure they will work.

If a fan is noisy, the bearings are shot and the fan should be replaced.
The lubricant in the bearings is "lubricated for life" ... the life of the
lubricant, not the life of the motor. The motor is probably still good,
Greetings, all:
I've got a 867 G4 QS that I use as an OS9 machine and use it daily. It's noise
from the fans has sort of gotten to me.
Are there any solutions or fans recommended to quiet it down a little bit? How
can I determine which fan is the loudest?
Thanks.

The Zip drive bays may, in general, be used to house hard drives.
