There are a couple of options (XBMS, Mythbuntu, etc) that will run on
PPC if you're looking for a media front-end to connect directly to a
TV, not sure about streaming. However, most PPC probably won't do too
well with HD due to their graphics hardware.

If you're talking about an ad-hoc connection (not through an access
point or router) then you can do so by selecting Create Network from
the Airport drop-down menu. Shouldn't have any other problems than
that, though it's more likely that the newer computer will see the
older computer, instead of
