Low End Mac began in April 1997 with two dozen Mac profiles, ranging from
the Mac Plus through the Mac II family. We've grown a lot since then, and
we still have a weak spot for aging Macs. We live the low-end philosophy
and still use 2002 through 2008 Macs for our regular production work.

Nobody has done more to keep PowerPC Macs relevant than the TenFourFox
team, which continues to port Firefox for OS X 10.4 and 10.5 users. Adam
Albrec has gone the next step and created a launcher that will let you
choose between the last version to support plugins and the newest version.

A tip of the hat to the Mac OS 9 Lives website for getting to the bottom of

Thanks for all the input!
I did some serious testing and benchmarking when I got the dual 1.8
GHz G4 upgrade, and I never got it to run reliably beyond 1.6 GHz. I
benchmarked at 1.53 GHz using Geekbench (CPU and memory tess), and it
was 27% faster than the dual 1 GHz MDD under Tiger, 19% faster

I have a question that I hope someone here can answer. Can a 1.42 GHz
dual CPU module be transplanted to a FireWire 400 MDD motherboard
while still allowing booting into Mac OS 9?
Thanks!

I've just read this entire thread. Thanks to everyone for sharing
their experiences and insights on PayPal and credit card companies.
To answer a few questions:
Yes, this thread is on topic - not because I wrote the article and
published it on LEM, but because PayPal is part of the Internet
way to run a popular list and
enforce it.
However, we do encourage trimming whatever you're replying to. Some
people are still on dial-up (about 1 inf 4 worldwide), so it's just
courtesy to do that.
