This is a little convoluted so please bear with me as I relay some history:
I have a 2003 G4 MDD single 1.25 running 10.4.11 with 2G RAM. Up till last
year was very stable. I routinely had it running for months at a time.
Last year I was looking for ways to speed it up. I replaced the video

Just to be sure, I attempted to fax to a machine I know is working.
Same issue. I verified later that the remote fax is, indeed, working.
My computer indicates that it is dialing, then it just hangs up and
places the outgoing fax on hold for 5 minutes, and tries again.
