An update to Dan's post to me on ChronoSync's non-bootable backup issue.....

I am working with version 4 beta and it does seem to be doing the job.

First thing I did was a complete fresh install on new 500gb drive #1,
then clone it to drive #2. Boots and operates fine.

As I am reinstalled apps and docs, I am periodically re-syncing and
rebooting onto the backup. That seems to be working fine as well.

The only issue I had was a date rollback somewhere in Excel. I chose
to exclude that file and again have no known problems.

It would be interesting to see of the author of the following article
updates it:
http://blog.plasticsfuture.org/2006/04/23/mac-backup-software-harmful/

Also, his notes are based on version 3.2.1 and I previously was
running 3.3.6 so the above link is not 100% accurate.

Obviously one doesn't know for sure unless one has to take drive #2
and put it into full production, but the poking around that I have
done with it has been working fine.

Thanks,

Diane
