What? I don't think so. It should look for the primary master, then secondary master for the primary IDE controller. It won't boot automatically from the secondary master IDE without being told to(cd rom drive)by holding option or the C key down upon boot. --Sorry, this is what I originally posted

Cable position will matter with some systems. Some will not like the master being on the slave and likewise, even using the correct jumper settings. But, most macs won't boot secondary master or slave unless told to ie-by a keypress -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Gro

Just needing a confirmation here... On the powermac MDD, I'm assuming that the "system" will "look" for a startup/boot volume at the "end" or last connection of the cable plugged into the 100mhz bus? That is if no other boot volume is "blessed" ... make sense? Jeff Jeffrey Engle Kamiah, Idaho
