that I use in a class that I teach that has MOV files that I need to
play for the class. When I double-click on them on my Ubuntu machine,
they play very well. When I put the CD into my G4 with 10.4.11, it
mounts the CD, but does

I think it's a cockpit error. The fact that it's opening Classic shows
that your preferences for the .mov filetype are wrong and you're
preference for .mov is an OS 9 application.
