Yesterday I was cleaning some of the dust out of the Mac and I unplugged the CD drives' IDE cable while the Mac was on. I plugged it back and shutdown the machine, then it would not power up the light would come on for a second and the fans would spin a little then it would cut out at first I thought it was a dead power supply but I removed the power cable from the CD drive and it is running now with no problems apart from no CD drive. Anybody have any idea what is making the power supply cut out when the CD drive is plugged in and how to fix it?
