I myself haven't seen a G4 MDD with a Zip-drive, but they do exist,
albeit in small numbers.
I suspect the mounting of the ZIP-drive in the MDD to be similar to
how they were mounted in preceding G4's: mounted flush to the front
panel, with the opening in the front panel having the exact

1) Has anyone ever actually seen an MDD with a factory Zip?
2) Does it use a special bracket/door or is it just a normal desktop
