i'm running OSX 10.4.6. and yes i've used the system profiler but it's
saying not found. do i use the OSX install disk using custom install
on the airport utility? cos i also re-installed the OS thinking
something might have been corrupted or missing but still getting same
results. a while back
A simple fix is just taking it out and putting it back, trying to go
all the way in until it clicks. Also, make sure the antenna is all the
way in. Airport cards are tricky that way.

You didn't mention your OS but you may need to reinstall the airport
utility, check your utilities folder and see if it's there, see if it
can
