Hiya,
Off and on over the past year or so, I've been working at playing through
an old DOS game which Michael reviewed in Issue 1 of Audyssey. I've not come
anywhere close to beating it, and don't want to really. I've yet to really
make it much of anywhere--true, I've gotten fairly rich an

A previous message said it best.
Persons hosting servers from behind routers or firewalls should open
up port 2500 to SoundRTS. If they don't know how to do this, then
that's the biggest problem.
If no servers are working, someone let me know somehow and I'll put mine up.

It's true, there are some good network games, but we need more. We
need games to play with others, not only by ourselves. I am, I
suppose, a networking crusader...when I finally begin to program, most
of my games will, hopefully, feature at least multiplayer modes, if
not networking modes.

When I start the game it gives me the microsoft error report. I ran the
dirrect X setup program from the microsoft site, I also have .net framework

My thoughts on your suggestion: That should be a judgmental call on the
gamer's part. Not only will it make the game more challenging by actually
making you use your ears, but it would also not clutter up the game with
unnecessary keystrokes.

I can agree with that. There was one in one of the later Alpha patches and I
really think it would help. Of course maybe you could set it to only work
on, say, the Easy difficulty.

I found that I was having difficulties with jumping over monsters so could
there be a keystroke for announcing how far you are from the monsters?

Hi Dean,
It's not asking you where to install to. Understand the file only
extracts the files for setup. You have to unpack the files to a folder like
c:\extract
or
c:\temp
and then once it finishes open your extraction folder and run setup.exe.
This is becoming such a confusion for some folks I
I preordered it. Woohoo!

Hi Davy,
yes. The application just runs in the background. You won't see any

Hi Dean,
It doesn't actually install to that folder, it merely extracts all the
files. So you might decide to create a folder called Unzipped or something
and extract the files there. Keep in mind this is just so you know where
they are. This isn't yet the install. Now, once you've extracted t

Hi Shaun,
That might make the error go away, but we won't know why the error

Hi Mich,
Oh, grief. Well, the error you gave below is a general protection fault.
That means, in non-techno speak, that the application doesn't know what
crashed the game, and so it gives a very generic error. Those are often
the worst kinds to debug.
Does it give you a details button to click o
Hi Steve,
That all depends on where you are in relation to the object. If you are
to the left of it you need to jump right, below it up, and right of it
jump left.
If you could give us your exact coordinates we could answer that question.
