Hi everyone,
Ok, this topic is straying away from the topic which was aquestion to
see if anyone of you were still running Windows 2000, and if people had
plans to upgrade to Vista.
If there is no more comments based on those two topics for this thread
I'll o ahead and close the topic.
Cheers.
I am having the same issue.
Torrents are slow so I would like the actual cd image if possible or
a place I could get one.
I have issues finding the torrent with codes, etc.
I may have a friend that has it which means for me I can probably borrow it.

There are 2 things.
If you are hard cure you would probably be with the latest and greatest.
Meaning you would chuck away your crappy computer after 3 months
because thats aparently how long it takes for something to be obselete.

Hi Tristan,
First, a correction. Visual Basic .Net and Visual Basic 2005 are the
very same language. We just use the name VB 2005 to distinguish it from
Visual Basic .Net 2003 and Visual Basic 6.
Second, as for the Microsoft .Net Express compilers I have a link to all
of them on my FAQ page

Hi Tristan,
I prefer to use C# .Net 2005 which looks similar to C++, but allot
simplar to program, and has better documentation and better DirectX
support than newer versions of Visual Basic such as Visual Basic .Net 2005.

Also, have you got MSN, AIM, etc. It might be easier for me to help

Thanks,

Hi Josh,
I haven't tried this with VB 2005, but I know VB 2003 had a wizard that
would allow you to import a VB 6 project, and it would attempt to convert
it to VB .Net.
In most cases the code was usable, but some of the code like DirectX
would have to be upgraded by hand to fit with DirectX 9.0C
hey,
Would it take much for Jim to convert all his games from vb6 games to vb2005
or vb-dot-net games?

Hi Jim,
Well, VB 6 programs are supported under Windows Vista, but I have read
Microsoft will offer no VB 6 support on the os following Vista. Weather
or not you can install and run VB 6 apps on the new os by installing the
runtimes remains to be seen. However, why stick with VB 6 at all. I mean
Hi Jim,
That was definately not my point. there is allot of older software that
still runs on Windows Vista, but some of them have issues, and you have
to tinker with it to make them run.
Though, there are going to be future issues with VB 6 applications and
earlier just because the fact Microso

Hello Dark it's to bad that we can't get our old nations back. The web

Then he should just delete the nations that aren't used anymore so they can

I do disagree with you about me needing to move up with the latest and greatest
or quit. As I said dos programs and windows 3.1 programs still run in windows

run in the next version of windows as well.

Hi Thomas,
Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought that you were talking that current
software would not run in Vista and beyond. Definitely agree that every new
version of Windows has needed a much more powerful machine to run it on and
that, that will continue to be true.

There isn't one--I told you it's very early alpha. If you want to use the
keyboard, use the keys like in Wrecking ball. If you want to use the mouse,
try to get the paddle sound louder than the puck sound and shoot.
