Hi Jim, Yes you are in that regard. My current development project Mysteries of the Ancients just uses standard stereo panning and volume which seams to work fine under Windows 7 with DirectSound 8.1. Once Philip Bennefall updates Streemway to XAudio2 I can explore more advanced 3d audio

Greetings Phil. I don't generally use game pads and such with games like Shades of doom, simply because SOD requires so many functions, and the centering commands aren't easily assignable on the controller. I do use my controller to play Top Speed 3 and my Playstation Emulator, however.

Hi Phil, Well, basically that's what my profiler does in MOTA. you press enter on configure joystick and it lists a number of functions you can map to buttons. It is currently incomplete, but the eventual aim of the profiler is to make mapping functions to a joystick or game pad much easier.

Hi Kai, Well, its like this. DirectInput can certainly handle multiple button states. I do a little of that for walk, run, jump, etc. While DirectInput certainly supports multiple buttons together to combined moves my problem is creating a profiler that can map multiple buttons at the same time
