Hi all,
What are your experiences with the fs navigator combined with the Microsoft's
flight simulator 2004?
Best!

But also meant to mention, there are things like python-based dos emulators
out there - last time checked most of them seemed inactive/abandoned, but,
maybe I'll have a look around again.

The problem there is that eSpeak is being implemented by the com port
emulator, so as far as dos is concerned, it's communicating with a serial
port, which is being handled by com0com and ASAP talking to each other,
literally.
But, in terms of eSpeak, it's really so cross platform it's crazy -
I am so very happy we can use dos with espeak even if its just
virtualized. I wish we could somehow take it out of its virtualized
environment and run it as a native OS. maybe take the native OS,
freeDos, and make it use asap with espeak.

Hey,
What I’d be interested in is if it were possible to get this working on
platforms besides Windows. I have OS X, and VmWare Fusion, which can run
virtual machines created for VmWare Player. So I’m 90% there, I guess.
Any ideas?
THanks,
Zack.

Josh, to switch that instance of eSpeak over to US english, edit
espeak.py with something like notepad, and on line 5, change the
current line to:

also you need if you have 64bit windows, you need the com0com with 64bit
signed drivers from the google code site.

you don't really need old python. you need slightly older vmware or else
you will not get pc speaker beeps emulated through the sound card.

Yup - also already copied things like directory listing off C: drive into a
floppy disk image to double check spelling of some of them - used 7zip to
extract contents afterwards - would be nice to also figure out how to do
things like change speech rate on the fly/go, using keystrokes, or comman
Hi gang,
I am hoping to get a PS4 for Christmas. If I do, what is the easiest
way to authenticate with the PlayStation Network? Are there any Linux
clients, or is this done on the console?
Thanks,
Hunter

Yes, and braillenSpeak/ASAPI is working fine, both in command line and
windows 3.1.
Only issue now is trying to bring external data/files in to try them out
under operating system.
And, yes, trust me, windows firewall is quite happy to allow this through,
and the signed version of com0com yo
Shaun, it runs fine with python 2.7, and VMWare player later versions - my
only current issue seems to be with working with image's file system as
such...
As in, I can't find a way to load external files into it as of yet.
Stay well
