Hi Gabriel,
Thank you very much for the answers to my questions. Now don't laugh too hard.
I am running Jaws version 4.02. I really do not know if newer versions of
Jaws would work better with VB6 and I have never tried any of the newer
versions of Visual Basic. But I have to say that I am
GB: Hello Jim and thanks for you comments.
Jim:
I was wondering, Note Pad++ puts temporary line numbers to the left of the text. Did you say that you could search via those line
numbers? I didn't see that.

Hi Gabriel,
I have taken a little look at Note Pad++. It sure does have allot of features.
But truthfully I do not see myself using it much. The thing is, I program
right in the Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 Integrated Development Environment. It
works very well with Jaws and has all kinds of

Hi Thomas,
Thanks for the link. I have down loaded Note Pad plus plus, but have not
checked it out yet.
GB: hello Jim.
Notepad plus plus has an incredible amount of features and customizable options, including autocomplete that, in the past, worked
smothly with Jaws.
If you will be abl

Hello Ibrahim.
I've tried it but, in my opinion, it hasn't something special to make it as my choosen editor. I mean, it does its job but it has
not features that help to write code more easily than Notepad or others editors do.
Greetings.
Gabriel.

Hi Gabriel,
I have never seen Note Pad plus plus. It sounds pretty good.
You know I do still like my VB6. Jaws will announce the lines and do some auto
complete. Plus it will drop you on the line of code that caused the error. It
will also immediately warn you of any syntax errors and othe
Hi Ibrahim,
Yes, I suggested Text Pad. I said;
A friend of mine says that he has also used Text Pad for writing code. It can
even run the code right in the editor. Which is another reason that I like the
VB6 IDE.
Good luck.

Hi,
Well, no one has suggested Textpad, but I assumed he was looking for
free solutions so didn't suggest Textpad which has a nominal fee
attached if you want all the features. However, I will agree Textpad
is one of the better text editors for Windows for programming.

Hi Everyone.
Has anyone suggested TextPad from www.textpad.com? I've not been following
this thread with much interest, its just that I've used this program before
when I briefly took up IF programming and found it rather good, the text editor

The file size limit was why I never used HJPad back when I was a JAWS

I tried Wordpad once but it caused a bunch of problems whenever I tried

Thanks Jim.
To run the code within the editor I've find the EdSharp that uses f5 to write the code in a temporary file and launch it to its
interpreter; it maybe also possible to set up the compiler and have a compiled file just by pressing a key.
Nevertheless, I'm not able to find an editor that
Hi Gabriel,
I do not use BGT because I still like Jaws and VB6, so I'm not sure how it will work
for you, but I very much like HJPad. I use it to write Email etc. It has a spell
checker and for some reason works very well with Jaws. You know that HJ

Ciao Thomas and thanks for your precious help.
So, let's take a step back. Are we sure to talk about the same notepad?
Mine has a double plus after its name, Notepad ++, plus plus, and I'm running the version number 6.22. Wich is your current version?

Hi Thomas and thanks for suggestion.
Yes, you maight be right saying that Jaws is the problem... I also like NVDA bu unfortunately it doesn't support my braille display
which is an old one. And, you know, I like to write code using braille instead of synthetizer only.
Greetings.
Gabriel.

Hi Gabriel,
Well, if I'm using Windows for coding I use Notepad. Of course, I am
not a Jaws user and use NVDA, and find NVDA and Notepad make a good
programming combo. While that works well for BGT I also write apps in
C++, C-C# .NET, Java, Python, and pretty much do all my programming

Notepad has each line of code started with a progressive number and this help a
lot moving throw the script.

Wordpad should work fine, just make sure you save your file
properly. If something breaks, save it as a txt and then just
rename the extension.

This is a question for those who write BGT scripts.
What text editor do you use to write your scripts and why?
I am actually using NotePad++ but it doesn't work well with Jaws, I'm not able to see what I'm selecting, for instance. Any
alternative would be very appreciated.
