Doctor Who: Legacy should be an epic game exploring the show's past
BBC
We'll admit to being on a bit of a Doctor Who comedown after the excitement that was The Day of the Doctor.

From surprise cameos to a cracking story, the dust is starting to settle and
we're now looking ahead to the Christmas special.

Never fear - Time Lord-related fun never seems to be far away at the moment, and Doctor Who: Legacy will keep you occupied until Matt Smith's festive farewell.

The puzzle adventure game will be released on iOS and Android mobiles on November 27 and - here's the best bit - it will be totally free!

Players will be able to build their own teams of companions and allies as they face off against enemies in various scenarios from the show's past.

Lee Cummings, creative director of developer Tiny Rebel Games, said: "The 11th (or is it 12th?) Doctor's regeneration is approaching fast.

"With decades of epic adventures to draw from, Doctor Who: Legacy is a loving homage created by loyal Whovians, and is rich in the show's creative legacy and fun.

"Combining is easy to learn, hard to master mechanics with beloved characters and cunning villains, Doctor Who: Legacy will be a treat for fans, casual players and even the most hard-core gamers alike."

The game will launch with episodes and characters from the two most recent series of the show, while Matt Smith's debut in 2010's season five will be released - again for free - in the New Year as future updates go backwards throughout the programme's 50 years.
