Unfortunately, Microsoft offers no simple or easy way to obtain that
information. For example, the dxdiag.exe utility will only report you
are running 9.0C, but will not give you actual stable release dates
which is crytical if you are using the updated releases such as June

number from dxdiag, but I need the date for Rail Racer.
