I had a try in packaging micropolis for Fedora but I didn't get too far.

I started from the SuSE package as a base. I have a somewhat working
version but the default screen is too big and I couldn't find a
patch/write one to solve this issue. Then I had other things to do and
I put this package aside.

Here it is a small recap of what I found. Maybe it can be useful to others.

I have found 3 different upstream website (which are not aligned among
themselves):
http://www.donhopkins.com/home/micropolis/
http://dev.laptop.org/git?p=projects/micropolis-activity
http://code.google.com/p/micropolis/

donhopkins.com is where micropolis was first released. No further
works seem to have done here.

dev.laptop.org code is the repository used by OLPC project. It has a
nice new icon:
http://dev.laptop.org/git?p=projects/micropolis-activity;a=blob_plain;f=activi
ty/activity-micropolis.svg;hb=HEAD
No other activity has been done in the last year here.

The new official Micropolis code is hosted on code.google.com.
MicropolisCore is the branch that is actively developed. I haven't
seen any recent activited on the micropolis-activity tree, but this is
AFAIK the only working version. Therefore IMHO an update of this tree
would be really needed.

A mega-patch based on the donhopkins.com version is available here:
http://git.zerfleddert.de/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi/micropolis

Suse and Mandriva have packages for it with some other patches:
http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/games/openSUSE_Factory/src/micropolis-4.0-25.28.src.rpm
http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/micropolis/current/

SPEC files are closely related. I don't know who based his own on the other.

Regards,

Andrea.

We have micropolis package in BuildService, but it fails on GCC 4.3
errors right now. (eg. Lots of functions are defined int, but not
returning anything or defined void and returning a value).
