Guys: The first pre-alpha <grin> snapshot of 3.1.0 (aka code from trunk) is now available for testing. This will most likely *not* reflect the final version but basically acts as a quick test for the spec file cleanup (which I just checked in) as well as a preview of Brad's hard work on the DSO/Python modules.
http://www.therealms.org/oss/ganglia/testing/ You will notice 2 new RPMs: - libganglia (needed by both ganglia-gmond, ganglia-gmetad, etc.) - ganglia-gmond-modules-python (the Python module bindings) If you would like to try the Python bindings, please install this additional RPM, otherwise, gmond will work as previously without this extra RPM. Known issues: - In hostview, the background color of your rrd graphs is white as opposed to grey (which it was before) -- Jesse is looking into this I believe :) - Upgrade path has not been tested, so please install on new installation only This version of Ganglia requires apr version > 1. I built the RPMs on CentOS 4 which came with version < 1. To get around this, I downloaded the SRPM for apr from Fedora 7 and rebuilt it. You can install this along side the old version (they can co-exist). You will also need libconfuse (again can download from Fedora 7 repo and rebuild). And yes, this snapshot is still using the 'old' versioning convention -- I will try to wrap that up soon so that we can have upgradeable snapshot RPMs. Comments, questions regarding the snapshots, please post back here.
