I'd like to re-add the BuildRequires for rrdtool-devel - this RPM is readily
available via the DAG/Dries repositories (for Red Hat and Fedora) and is
available as "rrdtool" on SuSE. This will make building on automatic build
systems much more conveinent.

not from my side. Can you restrict that to the "gmetad" rpm only?
AFAIK, rrd-devel is only needed there.
In any case, this open up again the question of shipping 3rd party
code together with the sources. We do it for "apr", "confuse" and
"expat", but we don't for rrdtools. Not really c

think this RPM is readily available so it would make it easier for folks to
rebuild the ganglia SRPM.
