And then tell her that it will be cute when the grandkids are singing "Rocky Top" all day long. What the hell is she thinking! My daughter is in Atlanta and her Bryan is a dawg fan but he did not go to school there and the grandkids love the Gator Chomp, but it is still tough. Fran

The more he (Vol-boy, not Randy) acts like a jerk, the more Randy should drop little passive-aggressive comments. 'he really can't help acting badly, but he's really trying to be a better man,' or when Vol-boy has been a real jerk, observe that, 'he's really improved from when you first met him'. (That's one of my favorites. when the boyfriend is at his worst, commenting that he's better than he used to be!) Then find really trivial things to complement him on, so that it seems like things you should take for granted are an accomplishment for him. You don't have to paint him as a bad guy; just define the context in which she views him and let him do the rest. In the end, the boyfriend's loser personality will take care of ending the relationship, but Randy will be seen as the supportive father who really tried to like the guy. If he tells his daughter to break up with the guy, that'll just make her want to stay with him all the more. Even an adult child never wants to tell a parent, 'you were right'. Rob P.S. After my daughter preparing a huge game-watching party menu of grilled ribs, etc, he disappeared with a book during half-time and said he was going to Starbucks. He didn't come back until a LONG time after the game and it made her mad that her game food was wasted. We've decided (my wife and I) that we need to sabotage that relationship and send vol-boy on up the road. ;-) Randy ----- Original Message ----- From: Arthur Polhill <mailto:lpolh...@bellsouth.net> To: gatortalk@googlegroups.com Sent: Saturday, September 19, 2009 9:07 PM Subject: [gatortalk] Re: Meyer sighting Let us know when you hear from her boyfriend. :) A. Woke up at 5:30 and started thinking about the game immediately. Been exchanging text messages with my daughter most of the morning. I told he her I wished it was a noon game and she shot back and said she wished it was a 9:35 kickoff! Yep! We're all excited! :) Randy ----- Original Message ----- From: Arthur Polhill <mailto:lpolh...@bellsouth.net> To: Gatortalk@googlegroups.com Sent: Saturday, September 19, 2009 8:21 AM Subject: [gatortalk] Meyer sighting Another Urban Meyer sighting to report! Last night, Paula and I were warming up by walking around the stadium (it's closed down for vendor stocking, so no stair-running tonight). We were walking along the sidewalk outside the south endzone and saw the team streaming out of the locker room coming up the ramp to board their two buses to go out of town for the night. As soon as we got to the ramp, there was Urban walking along chatting with a player, I think it was Nelson. Right behind them were the Pouceys.. Boy, are they BIG. I've been up since 4:00 AM. Is anyone else excited about today? A.
