Player Intros: When Alex Brown was “introduced” during the first Saints’ defensive series, all he said was “Alex Brown – The Gator Nation.” Well – it’s better than the guys naming their high schools over their universities or colleges. And it sounds a whole lot better than what a lot of the other players say (I won’t bother to type it – just listen to the next pro game).
Newt vs. Brant: Newton was an idiot for what he did. He broke team rules & was made an example. Best of luck to him. He earned another shot & I hope he doesn’t toss this one out the window, too. Poor Mechanics: I totally understand the frustration of poor center snapping. Try teaching a 4-5 yard shotgun snap to 7th & 8th graders – with & without a defense in front of them. Pouncey’s high release was probably due to his over-eagerness to pull and block laterally. He should have concentrated more on the snap, then pull technique. AND – Brantley lost focus of the ball. Quite a few time, he didn’t move his feet well for the sloppy snaps. It’s sounds cliché, but it’s all correctable. Gators by 3 touchdowns – minimum – on Saturday. My niece is in the USF band.
