Balaji Telefilms' KKUSUM which goes on air at 2100hrs Mondays- Thursdays on
Sony TV had this particular scene (Can't call it a scene, it continued for
hardly half a minute.)
I am talking of the episode telecast on 26th July, 2004 at 2100hrs
and which will be repeated on 27th July, 2004 at 1500hrs (1430 hrs maybe, i am
not sure!)
It was a party with a retro theme and we had Nakul's friend Harry
accompanying him to the party. On entry, everyone was being given a wrist band,
and after they come to the dancefloor, they were supposed to match the colours
on their wrist bands with someone else... who would be their dance
partner.
In a situation like this, Harry's band wasn't really matching anyone else's
which made him a bit depressed. And.... he feels a hand on his shoulder, he
looks back and is delighted to find someone with a band with the same colour as
his... And there appears a face, a guy with kajal in his eyes, looking
very cute (SERIOUSLY! :) ) smiling at him...
And harry has this very typical 'oh-my-god-look-he's-gay' look on his
face... and the scene ends.
A frequent Ekta Kapoor serials watcher , i.e. me noticed that when
otherwise we have background music for every small scene, whatever the case may
be. but THIS scene had no background music at all. I wonder why..
So, here Harry raises his eyebrows on the TV screen..... and so does my
mom. ."He found a dancepartner for himself na.. so why is he so much irritated.
What do these TV wallahs think of themselves? They have been portraying things
the same way they used to years back. When will they change? This guy (the gay
guy) looks far better than the girl Harry was looking at." An angry mom changes
the channel.
Needless to say, Prince has this big smile on his face!
