This Swedish film is a tender story of two gay men approved to adopt a baby.
Their plans take an extraordinary turn when the paper work Social Services
sends them has a typo. Believing the child they are adopting is one and a half
years old, Patrik turns out to be a 15 year old homophobic hoodlum. Based on
the Swedish play by Michael Druker, this brilliant adaptation takes the
"romantic comedy" genre to a new level by exposing the vulnerable emotional
core of gay marriage and adoption and injecting it with the unfeigned needs of
a teenager at risk. This film is smart, sweetly funny, honest and I'm happy to
say, 100% free from the "over rated" campy and gratuitous "vulgar homo-humor"
so common in Gay Themed Movies.
