Gay youths held for associate's murder
TIMES NEWS NETWORK[ SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 06, 2004 02:35:13 AM ] NEW DELHI: With the arrest of two youths on Friday, the south district police claimed to have solved a case of a cold-blooded murder. The police investigation has revealed that that the two accused, who along with the victim used to indulge in homosexual activities, had killed the latter over a larger share of income. On October 18, the police found an unidentified sari-clad body in Lado Sarai's DDA Park. The victim's head was crushed, but the name 'Hemraj' was tattooed on the right hand. A police team soon launched a search operation in areas with a large eunuch population. The cops subsequently zeroed in on the two accused, Ashraf (21) and Jawed (19) â both hailing from western Uttar Pradesh. The two were arrested from Khurja. The two revealed that they, along with the deceased, had been performing homosexual activities for the past four years. Though Hemraj had initiated the duo to this trade, the latter were annoyed with him for paying them the smaller part of the income. While confessing to have committed the murder, the duo said the motive was money which, they claimed, Hemraj, the leader of the group, used to collect from them. According to them, Hemraj had threatened them and asked for a greater portion of the money upon which they decided to kill him.
