"The Very Vidur Show" a famous Stand Up comedy show about being Indian and Gay will be performed by Vidur Kapur at Zenzi, Waterfield Road, Bandra, on 16th Feb, 2006 at 9pm. Be there. Entry is free but the drinks are not.

His hilarious comedic tirade incorporates his schizophrenic life experiences of being a conservative upper middle class Indian with a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago, a misfit in a family focused on arranged marriages and caste status, a preppy graduate from The London School of Economics, a chic urban trend-crazy, fashion victim fag in West Hollywood and Manhattan, a drag queen with a multi-ethnic and multi- colored flair, a corporate executive in an internationally known firm, an 80's Boy George/Madonna wannabee freak, and a person horrified at being mistaken for a terrorist in a post 9/11 America. Vidur's act incorporates multiple, colorful characters that range from traditional Indian to urban, edgy, ethnic and funky. Vidur comically shares his experiences with issues including homophobia, racism, classism, sexism, cultural sensitivities, and gender identity in a performance that is personal, vulnerable, irreverent and brutally honest. Vidur Kapur was raised in India and has also lived in London, Chicago, Los Angeles and now lives in New York.
