Vitamin D is always associated with sunlight. Sun exposure is perhaps the most important source of vitamin D because exposure to sunlight provides most humans with their vitamin D requirement and yet we have to be careful not to overexpose ourselves too much in the sun. Moderation is the key here.
The other source of vitamin D is from our diet. There are only a few food sources of vitamin D. Good sources of vitamin D are fortified foods and beverages like milk, soy drinks, and margarine. Check the labels on these foods. Fish, liver, and egg yolk are the only foods that naturally contain vitamin D. Can we have an overdose of vitamin D?
