I successfully built gcc-3.4.3 on SuSE Linux 9.2: Here is the relevant information:
config.guess: i686-pc-linux-gnu gcc -v: Reading specs from /opt/gcc-3.4.3/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.4.3/specs Configured with: ../gcc-3.4.3/configure --prefix=/opt/gcc-3.4.3 Thread model: posix gcc version 3.4.3 I enabled all the languages. My distro is SuSE 9.2. Kernel version: Linux sbooth 2.6.8-24.11-smp #1 SMP Fri Jan 14 13:01:26 UTC 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux rpm -q glibc: glibc-2.3.3-118 Thanks for the outstanding compiler!
