Well, yes, obviously - unfortunately, it *is*: "a prefix [for -d<letters>]" and therefore eaten (while it shouldn't, because '8' isn't one of the <letters>). -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=13464
