binutils 2.17.50.20070307
has the same issue.
binutils 2.17.50.20070307 not even compile under this platform. We have to
modify some scripts to make it work.

Agree, I wouldn't call it a bug. But I don't know where to put it other than
here.

I don't think you have to use fopen for fstream defined by the C++
standard.(see the details below)
