I see the failure with 4.1.2, 4.2.2 and 4.3 but not with 4.0.3. With
optimization
turned on, the test also succeeds.
I think this is related to PR33088.

Just run ./build.sh to build and ./test-double to run. Gives the following
error with gcc 4.3 trunk here :
