can't open .class, even though it exists: Too many open files
Add:
perror (can't open .class, even though it exists);
after the call to JCF_OPEN_EXACT_CASE in find_class and you get the error.

The temp zip file was being stayed opened even though it was empty. This
caused us to open too many files.
Anyways, I have a fix now:
Index: ../../gcc/java/jcf-io.c

I was able to reproduce this under powerpc-darwin myself.
Running the command which failed during the build manually, still failed.
Adding -save-temps to that command made it pass.
I have not looked at what is

I think there is a bug in gcj because when I run gcj under the debugger, it
works.

Unfortunately I still haven't been able to reproduce this.
I do have a few questions:
I'd like to see more of the build log, in particular what happened
before the failing command.
Does the failing gcj invocation
