Well, that was a bit too quick (careful which compiler you are using).
It works with this compiler:
$ /usr/snp/bin/gfortran -v
Using built-in specs.

The bug does not manifest itself with the default compiler and linker on a
recent version of Debian Testing:
$ gcc -v
