[gdal-dev] Calculate image band values within a vector

I am very much a beginner at python and programming altogether. I have read an introductory book, attempted many exercises and even attended a python course. Although without applying it to something I am doing I don’t seem to be picking it up. I would like to jump straight in and start doing so
