Hi Eli
I managed to complete the task thanks to the help of Even.
I have used gdal v1.9 without the tag.
I had a 4GB ecw file which resulted in about 11GB of tiled TIFF files. It
took about 15 hours.
Tomorrow I am going to try to get it working in geoserver.

Even,
Thanks again. That was the problem.
I uninstalled Python and installed the 32-bit version.
Next I uninstalled GDAL-1.9.1.win32-py2.7 and installed it again.
Now my Python installation is found.
My ecw file is now being tiled.
If you are ever in The Netherlands I'll by you a beer!
Thanks,

Next gdal-19-1600-core.msi. Full install, could

Hi Even,
I need to convert the ECW file to GeoTiff because of license issues. It is
extremely expensive to host ECW files on GeoServer.
The converted GeoTiff is 100GB. GeoServer can only handle files up to 2GB
so I need to create smaller tiles.
That is what the python script will do for me. I'm ho

I've no experience with GeoServer but this would be *extremely* weird that you
