Does anybody know where I might find a comprehensive list of the EDIF
cell types emitted by icarus' synthesis back-end? I'd like to try to
get an idea of where the finish line is in terms of supporting all the
cell types it might throw at my stuff.

I'm a bit confused about the different types gold surface finish. AFAIR
immersion gold is thicker than the other two, but I don't know more. How
do they compare in price and reliability?

They should each get the right clearance/mask values as if you were
putting in just one pad. PCB will do the right thing with them.
