Do you have attribute auto-placement turned on in any of your config
files?

gschem does indeed manipulate the alignment of rotated text.
This question has come up in the past. Dig back in the archives and
look for a posting from David Rowe. He generated a script which can do
footprint replacement in certain situations. It may be available from
his web site. I have used it with success with a number of surface
mount footprin

If your Vo is driving a big cap you'll end up with vin = unloaded input
voltage and Vo=0V at turn-on. This could exceed max ratings at a bad time
which is at max

Yes, good emphasis

Well, I think you've fixed my problem, but it doesn't involve the
TL431. But the datasheet inspired me -- I see them using it to
co
build from cvs source doesnot make any problem.

What's wrong with an LM317HV?

I think that the position of the alignment mark of text attributes of
gschem is wrong after rotation of the object (and text attribute).
I have rotated capacitor-1.sym with visible C? text. Then I added
attribute value=100p with has alignment mark at lower left by default.
But alignment of C? is w
There may be a TL431 application circuit that could be work. Check out

So I have a 42VDC supply that I want to feed into a linear regulator.
But almost all linear regulators want 40V absolute maximum, and the
ones that have higher maximums are not reliably stocked anywhere. So
I need to drop that down by at least 5V or so. The good news is that
I'm only pulling arou

Me too. Very annoying.
Traditionally, hyphens are considered safe characters in file names. So
it took me quite some time to track down what triggered trouble. I'd
