With the principle of least surprise in mind, I would be OK with sending the
announcement much earlier as long as at least the website has been updated and
a note has been added to the repository.
We probably don't want users to read an announcement about retirement and not

+1. To add more context about the chair swap, the Attic started with Henri as
the chair. When he had to resign, I offered to take the post contingent to me
being allowed to pester him to take it back. It took a while, but I was
successful in the end and he would now be able to come back. It's
Apologies for a late (well, missing) report. We will of course volunteer a new
one next month. FYI, though, there have been no changes and no activity on the
Attic since the last report, other than a ping from Chris. Silver lining: Henri
seems to have some bandwidth again. :)

Note that this is not the usual short report - more than ever your feedback is
most welcome. Please feel free to suggest edits - I would like to send in the
next 58 hours or so.
Thanks!

We most certainly do - not the best timing given the 4th of July weekend so I
was able to work on it just now. Not a lot of news so probably we can keep it
real short. How about:

process of moving to the Attic.

All, I was swamped and failed to post the January report on time, so we are in
for a February deadline and I'd like to work well in advance. I'm planning to
send a short report stating that we are on track (at least according to jira)
and there are no projects in the pipeline/no mailing list
(please comment at will - need to send ASAP)
No issues requiring board attention since the last report. Harmony has now
fully migrated to the Attic, XIndice is on its way. As of now, the Attic
pipeline is empty.

Gents,
unfortunately we missed our board report last month - my bad, $work
kept me really under the water. We are required to report this month
as well, but it doesn't look like I have plenty of time on my hands -
can anyone come up with an update?
Help much appreciated,

As the board report is almost overdue, I was wondering about the status of
Regexp. It seems to me we are ready to call it a day as the master issue
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ATTIC-117) is the only one still open.
Can we call it a day?

Short 'n sweet: no issues requiring board attention at this time.
Excalibur was moved to the Attic, and we are currently in wait mode
for more projects.

Took quite a bit, but it's done now (pending sync). I would have
closed ATTIC-52, but it appears that my username (gianugo) is not
allowed to work on that issue.

My feeling is that it does't have active user community.
