I've played with .net core extensively on linux, I was able to host a
postgres/asp.net core website behind nginx on linux with relative ease on
aws. The load times were quite impressive(300-400ms without caching). I
think the future of .net is very bright due to their linux adoption.

Yes, it's Windows. But there is an interesting concept here of being able to
centrally manage Windows and Linux using a single scripting language..
