May be you can download the FAST database (XML +/-300MB) to obtain a global geonames and Lat::Long in DMS (http://fast.oclc.org/ <http://fast.oclc.org/>), mark point A & B, get the difference (A-B) and convert this vector points to any measurement unit or express the linear distance in DMS…
