This doesn't save the properties of the document such as its collection
membership, properties and permissions.
The marklogic extension to Xmlsh provides a rename facility which was
graciously copied from code posted on this list years ago ...

There is no operation to move a document, but you can create a new
document and delete the old document in the same transaction. For
example, the following will create /foo/bar.xml in one transaction, then
create /bar/bar.xml from /foo/bar
