Alhtough I am still not convinced that the color space handling in jpegs
is 100% correct - but I'll try and find a testcase for that to support
my claim (and it looks much better than in the current version of fop
anyways).

myself and haven't found anything closely resembling what we have now.
Most only seem to support bitmap
