One thing to note about AMD64 is that if it is cheaper than other
64-bit choices then this is probably in large part because the 32-bit
compatibility lets AMD sell more of the processors. Thus everyone is
benefitting from the 32-bit support.

I can't really comment on the "morality" of a software driver (flunked
philosophy), but if you're a pragmatist and care for accelerated 3D
using the latest cards, I'd go with Nvidia. I build flight simulators
