I seem to have a slight problem with GNOME, sometimes when I run a GNOME based app such as the Session manager, it will freeze while opening, and then when i xkill it the menubar is all fux0red and when i go to logout to restart X it freezes during the logout process with the menubar still open. When I say menubar i mean the whole row across the top of the screen (GNOME's default). This didn't happen with my 32-bit install, but I dont think it's a 64-bit problem, something must be going wrong somewhere...............

Subject: [gentoo-amd64] good stuff

Just wanted to WOW!! I have been using Gentoo x86 now for about 2 years. I built my first 64 bit box 3 weeks ago. I have been thourghly impressed by the quality of the ebuilds and the stability of my 64 bit box. I honestly think I had more problems with broken packages with the x86 branch than the amd64 branch. I now have a working media machine with Freevo, 500gb raid 5 array, X, Gnome 2.6 running flawlessly..

thanks,
Jake
