Yes, it's a known problem. Stupid mistake which we only found after
having it released, unfortunately. If you have another Gentoo-box, you
can `quickpkg gentoo-sources' there, copy over the binpkg
If i start KDE using xdm (adding it to default run level) i cant login
with any user (not even root), but if i use startx as user or as root
from a console there is no problem. I am baffled and dont know how to
work around it so i seek your help.

Yes, if you are still X 6, then you need to re emerge the entire X
package.

I'm trying to set up a HP PhotoSmart 7150 printer. I found an HOW-TO on
the net, so I have emerged hpijs and hplip. After starting hplip and
restarting cupsd, I have tried to configure the printer. I have
downloaded the right ppd file, and I have used the gnome cups config
