a couple of times, and it's always been due to garbage in my portage overlay. Try unsetting PORTDIR_OVERLAY in make.conf and doing the sync - if it's clean then you know to look in your overlays for the culprit. If so then put back chunks of the overlay(s) until you find the problem. -- Kevin F
