I have run into the same xgcc failure when trying to upgrade from gcc-3.4.3-20050110 to gcc-3.4.4. There is a bug report for the problem that I tagged my report into: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95212 This has stopped me from upgrading to the 3.4.4 release. The problem probably has
