I just tried to emerge KOffice. This is an AMD64 system, if that helps.
Seems to be upset about some missing header files. It bombs out with:
/bin/sh ../libtool --silent --mode=compile --tag=CXX g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H
-I. -I. -I.. -I../lib/kofficeui -I../lib/kofficeui -I../lib/kofficecore
